I haven't seen that movie since high school, and I don't remember much of it, but I know the theme song was played on a zither and I can still remember how it goes. marron 1
Smoggy Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I am working my way through some 80's comedy movie with my son. However, some you remember as classics and loved are like meh these days (pretty much any John Candy movie)... marron 1
EmMac Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I have a soft spot for Jumping Jack Flash... Smoggy 1

The reveal scene is an amazing piece of film.

It's a spoiler of sorts so if anyone was genuinely going to watch the film hold off, but yeah, just everything about it is fantastic. The setup is Spoiler THe main character thinks his friend is dead and is trying to solve his murder. You haven't even seen a picture of his friend so you don't know what he looks like
Neverbloom Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 saw 2 movies today, black adam which was pretty much a marvel movie in DC clothes and saw smile, creepy as hell
Smoggy Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) What's your go too Xmas eve movie? Recently for us it has been Arthur Christmas Great movie though. We have had 'it's a wonderful life' at periods across the years. Growing up it was always Scrooge..the 1951 Alistair Sim version, which is still the best. If feeling nostalgic I will stick that on but the rest ofcthe family no so keen."but daaaaaaad, it's black and white" . Then there is Die Hard of course which i put on last year and went down well with the lad National Lampoon Xmas vacation is dumb, but funny. Probably the best of those car crash movies tbh. Elf and Trading Places are worth a look... Hmmmmmm..I will stick the 1951 Scrooge on while I am doing something and others are busy and then see what the others feel like... Stokz Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Cant go past Home Alone or Home Alone 2. On a side note - I got a Gold Class voucher - any good movies for the missus and I
Sithslayer1991 Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Santa Clause and Arthur Christmas. Had a bit Schwarzenegger nostalgia though and watched Jingle All the Way
Carns Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Agree with the Home Alone movies (1 and 2). Bad Santa is a favourite. And a left field option (besides Die Hard) is Batman Returns. Legionista and Smoggy 2
Unlimited Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 surprised no one said The Grinch yet rewatching it nowadays, they put in quite a few jokes that whooshed over my head as a kid

Smoggy Posted August 31 Posted August 31 So new Beetlejuice coming out. But from discussions had so far I seem to be on my own in thinking the original was shyte and for this a new film REALLY wasn’t needed… But meh…each to their own. theguyyouwishyouwere 1
marron Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Yep i'm with you smoggy. I'm all good for weird fantastic stuff, but beetlejuice has never done it for me. It's like a half hour kids tv special that got stretched out into a movie for some reason. Smoggy and theguyyouwishyouwere 2
