GD07 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Both goals......CLASS Yeah, I don't know about that.... they could have been better! I actually appreciated the blocked shot as much as the goals. Two best things he's done this year; that block and when he crunched Hoffman.
Boban Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Lots of things in life "could have been" better boban..maybe i should re-phrase- Ono was all class 2nite & it was good too see him net two goals.. Better sir? That line is an 'in joke' between my sons and me regarding their school results and it comes from the attached video. Start at 0:50 if you want to see the context in which we use the line. To be frank, I thought his general play was below his best but this is all forgotten when you come up with moments of brilliance like his two goals yesterday. B+ (watch the video) We need the sarcasm emoticon!
Shogun Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 So he scores two world class goals, puts in a great game and says he can do better. Anybody else scared of what he can produce?
StillWandering Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) Shinji Ono we adore you. Shinji Ono for you we sing! Scared that some EPL clubs might try and snatch our Japanese Maestro? Might have to mention to him to have a quiet one lol. Edited January 2, 2013 by StillWandering

GD07 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I always tell my little man to keep his eyes on Ono during the warm up, just to see his touch and skill on the ball. He didn't even look at the goal for that first one he knew exactly what he was going to do when the ball was coming to him from topor.
SBW Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I just hope we sign him up ASAP. He has been a Gem of a signing and he is loving life out in the west now that his wife and kids have come down here.

He didn't even look at the goal for that first one he knew exactly what he was going to do when the ball was coming to him from topor. The first time I saw him warming up I thought to myself, "gee that kid has got some touch on him". I had no idea who he was. I thought he was one of the youth league players. He certainly doesn't look 33.
sydneycroatia58 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 His 2nd touch for his first goal to tee it up for himself is just ridiculous. That's the kind of thing you try in training 100 times and 99 times you cock it up.
Burztur Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 He kissed the badge after the penalty today! Hope he stays and retires here!
WSWJuve Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 What a superstar, loved when he kissed the badge. Need to sign him, for at least another season.
GunnerWanderer Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 He'l stay another season.. Inside info ;-) Hope you're right! I have my hopes pinned on you now haha
ATP Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 He'l stay another season.. Inside info ;-) Hope you're right! I have my hopes pinned on you now haha Solid source who spoke to shinjis wife... Trust me, Tensai is itching to play next season, hes gota think of his family 1st but, big re-location
GunnerWanderer Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 yeah true would be hard being away from the family, hopefully he can sell the aussie life to her! he has got a hell of a lot of fooball left in him - given he was injured a lot earlier on in his career you'd think he hasn't got the same wear and tear a 32 year old has.
ATP Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I noticed the same, Still quality from a guy whos had 3-4 major injuries the past 10yrs
Malone Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) yeah true would be hard being away from the family, hopefully he can sell the aussie life to her! he has got a hell of a lot of fooball left in him - given he was injured a lot earlier on in his career you'd think he hasn't got the same wear and tear a 32 year old has. Doesn't this kinda contradict itself, if he had been suffering from reocurring injuries early on i'd expect him to have quite a bit of wear and tear. Either way i love you Shinji, sign him up! Erebus Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Shinji kissing the badge after he scored and then kissing it again post match celebration in front of the RBB kinda tells me that I think he likes playing here haha
HungHuynh Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Just realised today that I had placed a bet on Ono first goal scorer. ^^ Also linked the bet with a multi-bet Liverpool to win FA cup =D

Possibly. But it's my theory and i am sticking with it haha HH - shame about that bet!
HungHuynh Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 WooT! Ono on twitter! Nice pic posted with Elrich. You can find him on @OnoSkcr
GunnerWanderer Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Regardless of him being fit Popa might put him on bench this week, we should be able to beat Jets without him and give him a rest. Some big games coming up with MVFC and Mariners. He has rested him a few times might be time again
Burztur Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 popa does like his rotation policy and this one makes sense.
wswnick Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Talks next week regarding his future. http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news-display/in-demand-ono-s-future-uncertain/60115
