HillsWanderer Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Sad to see him go. A joy to watch. He is and will always be a WSW legend.
Sime11 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 im guessing if we make it further in ACL (after June) he wont be wearing the WSW Jersey for us..... hopefully we win another trophy this season, Shinji deserves to go out as a winner
WestGrub Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 The original WSW legend. Has set the bar for the marquee player. Goes with blessing & leaves such wondeful memories. It's up to all involved to send him off as the a champion he is. On & off the field. pseudonym and BBB 2
dochers Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks for everything Shinji, you are a true gentleman and your class is just what we will build this club on.
Wanderer74 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Good on you Shinji, you were the key to our success. God bless you. TIME TO END IT AS CHAMPIONS
dmixtaaa Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 This legend is a big part in moulding this club into the succes story it is today. As a mark of respect we need something to keep the name around Wanderland, long after he is gone. I propose to Mr. Primo we name a Teriyaki Chicken Wanderdog in his name. The Tensai Wanderdog sounds like an absolute must. It's the very least we can do... BBB, Cguezz, ManfredSchaefer and 2 others 5
OglenLangden Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Really pleased he will see out the season. He has been immense.
jocosmic Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 He's been a class act. So pivotal in our success last year. Sad to see him leave but wish him all the best in his career. He's gone down in wanderers history as a legend and will not be forgotten. BBB 1
Montalbano Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Need a big Shinji banner in his last game Deuce 1
ATP Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Farewell Shinji and good luck with your career. Thanks for the memories! How we treat our departing marquees is an investment into acquiring future potential marquees. Player networking is big business. All it takes is for word of mouth from one big star to another about how they enjoyed it here and how much they were respected by our club and our fans. This could be the difference between signing a second division reject and a first division legend. Spot On
GookKidMaadCity Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I can only imagine how epic the tifo for his last home game will be
Burgerman Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Club legend who won't be forgotten, will be sadly missed and has left a big hole to fill his quality and skill.Lets hope we can send him off with 2 more trophies BBB and SikWitIt 2
ManfredSchaefer Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I can only imagine how epic the tifo for his last home game will be Indeed! For my money, the best of the big three marquees signed up last season in the A-League and surpasses even the likes of All Night Dwight in terms of value and contribution to the fabric of not just the Wanderers but all clubs. Committed, professional, popular without becoming a slave of the merchandisers or the PR agents, balletic one minute, slogging it out the next, and not a simple go-to-man for the squad (like ADP), but a player who facilitated everyone's growth in the playing line-up. A legend! GunnerWanderer, jocosmic and Benched 3
Peaches Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I think he is a perfect example of why clubs should look for marquees if they fit the correct jigsaw piece in your puzzle. He has been utter class throughout his time at the club and I expect that to continue long afterwards he has left. OglenLangden and teddies 2
JonWanderer Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 We will miss you Shinji. Thanks for your contribution to the club and for those amazing goals you have scored. Don't score any of them if you come back and play against us in the ACL !!
Benched Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Well, he is going to be a hard act to follow. What an utter gentlemen and professional. Not to mention just an allround top guy. The impact he has had on the fabric of our club in 2 seasons is just phenomenal. All future marquees have a really tough gig filling the shoes of our Tensai. All the best Shinji, we wish you well. You'll forever be Red and Black! DontCallMeJacko, Legionista, BBB and 1 other 4

Actually I was thinking a Tuna Sashimi WanderDog with wasabe, a drizzle of dashi sauce and some flakes of smoked abalone, all served on a steamed rice flour bun.
JonWanderer Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Lets make sure we all sing Ono, Ono, Ono, Ono, Ono, Ono, Shinji Ono extra loud at the remaining games Lost Dino and Shinji but they will both always be part of our tradition but for different reasons !! Balkanite and Delije 2

On a serious note, im going to miss the Genius we call Shinji Ono, this man has been a great mentor for our youth players. Part of me is sad to see him leave, the other knows that he will forever be woven into WSW History. Im just glad WSW could help revive his career. NickosCPC Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Brilliant marquee.. Remember, we had pressure on Popa to produce a big name marquee to match ADP, but he rejected the likes of Ballack to go and chase Shinji. I think our next marquee should be the same. Our club doesn't need a big name. We are not a team of champions, we are a champion team! No one man is bigger than the team. In saying that, I wouldn't be against signed Steven Gerrard DamnedUnited and BBB 2

SBW Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Tsutae, Tensai. What a man he is off the field. Glad what he brought to the club and will always be a legend at our club. Should dedicate bay 21 as the Shinji Ono bay goblin and Cguezz 2
weeMan Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I know this has been coming but can't help but feel sad that Shinji will be leaving us...
zola Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 True gentleman; a rare quality in modern football. Sayonara Tensai.
