Malone Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 May Jebus have mercy on Mooy on his return to Parra if he puts in a transfer request to go to another A-League club.If he wants to leave should probably just do himself a favour and go overseas.
Jukes01 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 May Jebus have mercy on Mooy on his return to Parra if he puts in a transfer request to go to another A-League club. If he wants to leave should probably just do himself a favour and go overseas. Its still speculation still as far as I know. I cant see it being a problem if he wants a transfer. No use hanging onto someone if they don't want to be there. There is going to be plenty of games available for players in the squad. I just cant see any reason for Mooy wanting to play for anyone else, especially at this stage of the season. If he thinks he is good enough to play overseas I cant tell the kid right now, he isn't good enough. They have players of Mooys calibre all over Europe. A dime a dozen. ManfredSchaefer 1
Jaggy Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 If Mooy was to leave I would like him to try his luck in Europe. Australian players seem to fair better in the Dutch, German, Belgium and French Leagues rather than the UK where Mooy had a previous stint. I've followed the English and Scottish Leagues all my life but one thing I've always notices is British supporters cheer more for a good, hard solid tackle than brilliant one touch football. The rest of the world seems the reverse?

The rest of the world seems the reverse? The 2006 world cup squad had the majority of its players playing in england, the current group of socceroos seem to fair better in dutch, belgium and german leagues because we dont have enough players of high enough quality to play in the premier league
DeeDee Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Really dont understand why Mooy would join a fellow a-league club. The guy had loads of potential and im a big fan but this season he has only really declined apart from a couple stand out games. He comes across to be as a big confidence player. Whens he confident hes firing, when hes not he definitely fires blanks. Gazmon 1
Jaggy Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 The type of player Mooy is, like Zelic, Okon, Chippers, Culina all slight built players with a bit of skill fair better away from the UK Popa, Neill, Craig Moore etc better in the bustling physical game in the UK. MartinTyler 1
mushi Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Can anybody comment on the rumours of a Cahill move (possibly loan) to WSW that i've heard? https://twitter.com/TonyTannousTRBA/status/421994486948839426 Cant see this happening. MLS starts in march. If he was to sign contract tomorrow, he will play what 4 games?
wayoutwest Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I am a fan of Mooy, but I agree this season he has been a bit off his game, I felt he did better in the derby mind you. With Poljak injuring a hammy in the warm up he should be set for the best part of a month in the first 11 if that is an issue. Doesn't make sense to me that he would want to leave with the champions league on the horizon as well. I don't think popa can or will let him go mid season, at seasons end sure but not now. Think it is a mistake on Aaron's behalf to try & leave regardless but that's football.... Jaggy 1
matty Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Mooy has been never able to take the next step up on a consistent level... still would be a shame to see him leave, but such is football. I do prefer a la rocca and poljak midfield TBH. Agree on all of that, well said
fatshlob1 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 his been average at best this season if he leaves oh well, will recieve a hostile welcome if he joins another a-league club when they play at parra
Montalbano Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 His size is a large part of the problem. Gets knocked off the ball too easily. But he does have a nice passing game. Needs some one like La Rocca or Poljak alongside him rather than Trifiro though. Prydzopolis, MartinTyler and Carns 3
mack Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 He's bigger than Brattan but tonight Brattan bossed the Glory while in a midfield a man down because Broich was further up the park because Berisha got sent off. If there is any truth to the rumour that Mooy wants out to play more to get into the WC, he should watch Brattan because out of the two of them, Brattan is the guy getting picked over him.

nl689 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 To be honest in light of what we were 'told' by the club about Shinji and what the situation really was I would not be surprised if our 'denying' of Mooy's links away from the club turn out to be false. Would definitely be a shame to see him go but if it does happen would LOVE to see Polenz potentially push up into RMC position.
Lmc Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 One of the main reasons i would like to see mooy stay is that he is a local. Would love to see him stay and develop here, and then score a contract with a big club overseas.

Lmc Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I think mooy has more potential than Elrich. But having said that, I don't think we got to see enough of Elrich to make a fair judgement.

Yes but I think we saw enough of him as a defender with a short fuse, this trait in a defender will never sit well with any gaffer. Lmc 1

TehSmileyBandit Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 bloke dosent show any desire and heart leeeeeeave already People show desire and heart in different ways and Aaron seems a naturally shy kid. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt (if I had any doubt) and say that his heart is in this club, he's just had a couple of sub-par performances. Carns, theguyyouwishyouwere, blurbel and 1 other 4
WhoDoWeSingFor Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Not to be a dick ....... but I can't say where I heard this. " at this moment, Mooy is 100 % gone to another A-league club " Of course what "at this moment" means is anyone's guess, but sounds pretty defenite. Edited January 24, 2014 by WhoDoWeSingFor

If he wouldn't let Ono go mid season, why would he let Mooy go? Our midfield has been ripped to shreds with injuries and we have been operating at the bear minimum. Know you probably have a good source but I just can't see it happening.
WhoDoWeSingFor Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Who said mid season ? at this moment was misleading but he said end of season Edited January 24, 2014 by WhoDoWeSingFor
sydneycroatia58 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Mooy will be off to Heart/City next season.
West13 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Probably was umming and ahhing then.. BOOM! As soon as city announced as owners made decision easier I assume. Might be a few players in that boat now. Hopefully if this is true he can now focus on giving his all to the Wanderers for the rest of the year coz since speculation about his future started he has been a shadow of his potential. Give us some huge performances Aaron! Edited January 25, 2014 by West13
Kizza Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Played very well tonight. Showed what he can do when there's a more defensive minded player beside him who's also willing to go back and get the bloody ball. Put in some nice crosses and held possession fairly well. Bit lucky with the goal but I'm sure he won't care. meryn and TehSmileyBandit 2
