2-1 WSW with 30 to go.

WU player looks to have broken their leg and/or done a severe knee injury. Long delay happening.

Is that finals confirmed? Is it a top 6? the longer season has benefited the squad.

5th WSW 33 (wdl 10-3-8) (+2)

6th Victory 33 (9-6-6) (+11)

7th Jets 30 (9-3-9) (-1)

1 round to go.

No team below Jets can make the 6.

No finals not confirmed, yes it's top 6.

Newcastle won their game so they're 3 points behind us with the last round to go. So if we lost to Wellington, the Jets could overtake us if they beat Adelaide and the margin is more than 1 goal in both games (or whatever combination gets that goal difference to swap).

A draw or win for WSW and we make finals.

If we win we could end up as high as 2nd if results go our way and depending on if the women are also using the "wins first" tiebreaker before goal difference. Although that would be unlikely as SFC still have 3 games to play and even a single draw would be enough to stop us going ahead.

3rd place is unlikely as well as one of the last games is Mariners vs Western United so we'd need a draw there to get ahead of WU on wins or GD.

It looks like it. The table has us above Victory.

So a win or draw means we finish ahead of the Jets and make the six. Lose and we need Victory to lose or Jets to draw or lose.

WU and CCM are playing each other in the last round so if we win we jump the loser of that game. If they draw and we win by two we can jump both of them into third. Technically if Sydney lose their three remaining games we can get second, but that feels ambitious.

Barring a disaster we should make the semis. Let's face it the last time we made the semis it was on the back of some stellar overseas and local signings, many of whom didn't hang around for the semis and certainly not for the following season. Whilst I know they were shafted it's difficult to gauge how good the coaching team was at the time given the resources available. Roll forward to this season when the club is still struggling to make an impact in the Women's game and we sack our coach just before the start of the season. I was as skeptical as anyone about Robbie Hooker's recent prowess as an ALW coach but he's managed to turn an average ability squad into a very competitive unit. IMHO our best season to date and something to build on; if we keep the coach then there is less likelihood of us losing our best players to rival teams and possibly make us more attractive to quality players who previously wouldn't give us a look.

CCM and WU did end up drawing, so beat the Nix by two or more and we finish third.
