Scicluna to start over Preistmann. And I would really think about dropping Milanovic for Hammond for a spell.

Personally Simmons at RB and Cleur at LB.

Antonsson to grab a coffee on the bench.

I do think Milanovic is less effective on the right. Would like to see him shifted to the left with Kraev in the middle. Hammond brings the energy that we are missing though so would be happy with either Hammond or Milanovic on the left.

I prefer Kraev in the middle as well. The elephant in the room is Mata because he isn't going to defend, the middle is where he is most protected. We have to treat him like Messi have everyone else do the running for him and get him the ball so he can play those passes. If we aren't doing that then there was no point in bringing him in.

Yes. At the minute it is looking like we would have been better off signing a Schneiderlin equivalent rather than Mata as we are pretty stacked in the front third.

Mata will kill it, give him time dudes.

We should just play him wherever the hell he wants to go, the kids can do the running for him.

You know...the hope I cling to at this stage is that even in our championship winning first season we didn't look great until that second derby. Yeah we beat Brissy and Heart I think before the second derby in that December...but it hadn't clicked....

A win against the Jets...and you know...maybe just a bit of momentum towards the derby....

It's a bit of a bugger the international break tbh. A win and you want to keep it rolling.......If we lose we get 2 weeks to stew in our own misery before the derby.

The positive thing, if there is one team you could pick to play at home to try and get the first win, surely it would be the Jets.

I feel like 90% of our problems go away if we go from 2 in the middle to 3. Right now either Brillante and Priestman both stay back and provide defensive cover, leaving a huge gap between the back and the front, or one pushes forward to support the attack and our back line is left completely unprotected.

Mentioned it in another match thread, but I actually think Brillante has been better this season than last. Previously Hendrix played deepest of the two and was the one who would split the CB's when playing out. Brillante always ended up in the cover shadow of one of the opposition attackers and left Hexdrix with nowhere to go instead of being his first option. This year he's been playing deepest, which I think suits him better. Defensively he's been winning the ball back well and his stats for tackles, interceptions, ball recoveries, etc. have been pretty good.

Play Brillante as the ball winning 6. Play either Priestman or Scicluna as the box to box 8. They're young so they can do all the running around and sub for the other one when their legs start to go. Play Mata as an out and out number 10 with two behind him to do all the defensive dirty work so he can focus forwards. Milanovic on one side of the attack, Kraev on the other, Borello down the middle. When Mata tires you put Kraev at 10 and Hammond or Sapsford out wide.

It's a no fills boring setup but it should be second nature to the players. There's quality in that front 6 so we just need something that allows them to show it.

play Kraev behind Borello and then sub Mata in with 15-20 to go

i get that Mata is in his twilight years - but if he gets on that pitch - he works for the ball like every other player on the pitch. there should be no exceptions - we all wanted a team that performed on the pitch, every player included. I want Quality from Mata not quantity - if that means 20 mins of brilliance a game - i can handle that - alot can happen in 20 mins in a game

look at how ADP worked out for Sydney - he had great stats individually but Sydney were never a title threat

do we want to be the same with Mata?

This game could end up very high scoring from both sides - two teams with decent attack and bugger all defence. Unfortunately their defensive mid > ours and our keeper is scarred from the last game so.....

We can score, its at the back where they need to be tighter, not let players turn and run at them. Lose this match and its a struggle to catch up to the rest already with the season just begining.

Mata needs to pull the strings more but unfortunately we don't have anyone thats close to his level to pair up with.

Borello is our main target he can run all night and still has a good touch, we just need the midfielders to dictate a bit of the gameplay and if we get the lead to finish of the match.

Missing Marcelo at the back so the boys need to step up.

It's the hope that kills you.

If you don't change things...then things don't change.

The trouble I have is I don't think that Staj has the nous to change things.

I’m hearing Clisby has finally been benched for this one!

I hope the is the start of us 'ripping the band-aid off' and commit to playing the youth. If we want to identify as being a developmental club and to build from within, then do it now.

I can stomach a kid like Vidackovic making mistakes and costing us points, it is a part of the learning process.

I'd like to see Temelkovski on the bench ahead of Antonnson.

I'd be happy with a generally youth/development policy and spend the majority of money on a seasoned coach and a couple of top class veterans to guide them.

Is this a "trust me bro" thing? he better be dropped

What's happening here? I was wandering why he hasn't been in the squad yet. I really would like to see what he can do.

Bangaverage has been pretty reliable with this sort of thing in the past.

There's already a place we can "play the youth". It's the NPL team. I don't accept permanent mediocrity by deliberately sabotaging the team playing boys against men so Lederer & co can save money.

CCM won the grand final last season putting on: 1x 17yo, 2x 21yo, 5x 22yo and 2x 24yo.

I agree to the above except Matta should be last 20 player with the fresh kids coming on , Kraev has much more energy that Matta when needed and can thread a very good ball himself and defend when needed don't waste him on the wing,  Malanovic on the left and Borello on the right with Hammond up the middle.

Panta to start at left back

temelkovski still not in squad, neither is Pelekanos

No way. Hammond on the wing. Did you see him skin those Adelaide defenders? 2 of them with just pure skill. Our 3rd goal doesn't happen without his lead up play that unfortunately wasn't caught by the highlights. Let the man cook on the wing for us.

I have accepted Borello as striker and given up on Antonsson.

So where should we play Hammond , does not appear to b a spot for him ?

I am dropping Mata or Milanovic on the bench and have Kraev down the middle and Hammond on the wing, Borello as Striker.

Then again Hammond still learning, good weapon off the bench. I am expecting Hammond to be in and out of the starting line up as he learns his role.

Not a member, does anyone know if there's any difference in price, purchasing tickets online rather than at the ground?
