Nup, we will play them back into form after a super drubbing they received.

I seriously Cbf

i actually wouldn’t mind if we rolled over and let mariners get 3 points so esfc come home Asia outside the 6.

I want to see youth. It’s been discussed enough time to put Ibini, Fatratos and orgawa on ice.

Mariners will be burning after getting done by Smurfs. They need the win to keep pace with the 6. Either pressure gets to them... or we may be in for a very frustrating night.

These midweek catch up games are doing nothing for the credibility and health of the league. Between those at the ground and watching on tv I’d be surprised if it cracks 20-30k. They should’ve just run with a 22 round home and away season.

Surely this season puts to bed once and for all the idea that the aleague could run in winter

Calling it "Winter A-League" was a misnomer anyway, it was Summer-Autumn-Winter. FFA wanted December-July which is full summer, full autumn, half winter.

With the AFC re-alignment to Sept to August as the new calendar I think the calls to start in an actual calendar year (ie Jan to July) just don't work.

Also, involving deep winter needs pretty much every team to have a boutique stadium. Which isn't even close to happening. If WSW, SFC, City, MVC and Roar all had boutique stadiums then I think that it could work and probably make the club more money than expensive rentals like they all do now.

But none of the clubs control their own stadium. The closest we've got is Mariners who have been trying since 2014 to get management rights, but the council will never let them have it and the end goal will be to run the Mariners out of the stadium and sell it at mates rates to a developer who can knock it over to build a bunch of tower blocks and make squillions off it. Perth been around 20 years don't even own an administrative base, WU will never build their stadium and instead will just play out of the 'training' facility the council are paying for.

At least Ramy is back now. So creativity in the attacking third may be greater than zero for a change.

I was in terrigal over the weekend and on the way in I noticed that at least the seats in the stadium actually say Central Coast rather than Bears now. Gosford city centre around the stadium is depressingly dead. I dont know that the stadium site would even be worth what they’d want for it tbh. The place is a far cry from when I used to go to mariners games regularly at the start of the aleague.

Gosford city centre has always been depressingly dead for as long as I can recall.

The first 3-4 years of the aleague, the place used to be pumping on game day. The stadium was regularly >80% full and the surrounds were packed with people. It’s sad to see what the club and area has become

I only came in when WSW joined, no knowledge of the comp before that. I moved back from overseas around then. For me A leauge history starts 2012.

Is it rainy there?

So this is the run into the 6(stop laughing) it could be.

Its difficult to know which team will show up,I hope not the one we saw a few days ago.

So Ogawa,Hemed and Ramy to start I'd guess? A foreign keeper comes in.

There's been a bit of rain in the last hour.

They're probably going to sell the Bowling Club next to the stadium as well.

It's a 10 acre, waterfront plot with a 10 minute walk to rail. As a rough comparison, there's a apartment building on Mann Street which has 72 units worth about 600k each, giving it a rough estimate value of 43 million dollars.

You can fit roughly seventy of the tower blocks into the space the stadium, it's parking and the bowling club take up. The value in that land would be billions, with potentially 5000 units. And you'd sell 90% of the apartments off the plans the week you announced it.

Koutroumbis back in the middle makes that our 13th central defensive pairing this season I believe.

Actually it's probably closer to 10.

We had 7 pairings when we had Mrcela & Cancar in the 2nd Derby, we stuck with them until now so that's 8 now, which may or may not include a half-game unit that included Tass and a 'technical' combination when we played a 3 atb.

I cannot ever remember a Wanderers game in their history that I have been least excited about to watch.

I honestly cannot believe how low we have fallen.

2014/15 the last game of the season on Anzac Day. We were in 9th place and since the Jets lost the night before we were safe from the wooden spoon, playing Perth who got hit by the salary cap breach and so the result was entirely irrelevant. Neither team had anything to play for.

Literally the most meaningless competitive game we've ever played.

It was the game that it stormed, covered the pitch in hail, postponed the start and then the RBB got targeted by Strike Force Raptor, they pepper sprayed a kid and they bought in the riot squad when we left the stadium.

At least in 14/15 we still had fans wanting to attend a game. Hail storm or not.
