We've played 2 game since they last played. We clearly struggled to get into gear on Tuesday, I assume due to being sapped of energy. If we start this game a step behind the pace, Mauk will have dived at least 7 times for 3 pens before the half. Start with which ever players are prepared to press like mad men. We can sub 5 people so do your shift and let the next group come in and do the same.

Just curious, how long Vedran out, how much left on contract?

Until the end on next season lol. Arguably one of the worst contracts we have ever given.

He was actually decent before he supposedly re-injured himself (apart from the Newcastle game)

Yeh, he was. I wasn't suggesting otherwise.

And Popa didn't want sign on Covic, Polenz, Martinez or Antonis for another year or two.........

I wouldn't panic...As it says 2 players are to be omitted so it'll most likely be him and some other player.

I wasn't panicking. I was just surprised to see his name on the team sheet, when for so long now he hasn't even been on any injured list or anything.

Could this mean that Tass is on his way to Newcastle ???? The plot thickens.

What do others think of Troisi in the defensive midfielder role? He protects the ball better than Baccus. Now that Dorrans is back, I wouldn't mind seeing how it would work with Baccus and Troisi switching positions.

For mine - way too lazy defensively to figure as a DM and his distribution is questionable. Certainly nowhere near on par with Dorran's (who plays in the defensive midfield role generally, with Baccus more of a box to box midfielder).

If we have a fully fit squad to choose from I'd go with the following:

Target man: Cox

Wingers: Kamua, Muller

Midfield: Duke (AM), Mutch, Dorran's.

Backs: Wilmering, Natta, McGowan, Gordan

GK: Margush

That leaves: Ibini to come on for Cox; Troisi to come on for either Muller or Kamua; Baccus to come on for Mutch. Other possible subs would be dependent on game situation.

I realise Robinson will stick with 3 at the back, but for me the above set up maximises our strengths and is superior to Robinson's usual set up.

Swap Duke with Cox , cox will feed the likes of Duke and can hold up a ball. I think Troisi  has been good at DM rather AM he is definitely not a front man.

I’d like to see them play together more. Cox clearly isn’t going to score goals but the way he holds the ball and lays it off I think compliments Duke.

This has loss written all over it. Outside of mariners we haven't really looked like beating any of the better teams.

However we should have buried Adelaide at Bankwest

             Cox                     Duke

                         Kamau

        Baccus                    Troisi

                       Dorrans

Wilmering   Natta   McGowan   Gordon

Surely Kamau has to start. Cox is not quick, but his movement off the ball is intelligent. He puts himself into a position to receive the ball in space, which gives him time to assess what to do with it.

We struggle now, to play without a keeper would make it harder I think.  (Only joking, I know you left Vedran out).

They've been on the rise since then though. I think they could spank us if we don't show up

Vedran has been getting paid via insurance money so the club aren’t worried about it. Although, that expires next month so next season my be a different story

That's true but who would have picked last night's result !!

if Brucie Kamau can come on the 60 minute mark and get 2 goals a week and if no goals he creates havoc for other teams leave him as as a sub

We won't show up for half a game at least, that's just normal.

This

I don't know why people think Kamau should start.

To me its obvious he is most effective off the bench, he is electric fast, has great control when dribbling and performing skills and can finish chances against TIRED defences.

Not defences that are FRESH at the start of the match.

Unreal player off the bench, not as effective when starting.

Disagree he deserves to be starting, I can’t handle watching Ibini stand still for 65 mins

I'd rather Cox, his general play is good and he works hard, although he has struggled to score.

He worked well with Duke last season, think they compliment each others strengths.
