Sadly we are technically less than competent at the moment.  We aren't able to hold the ball, beat the opposition to the ball or tackle. Our passing is so-so, often nowhere near our own players. McDonald and Diamanti are running rings around us.  It isn't that we don't have the players or the passion.  We seem to be lacking intensity on the ball and when we have it we don't know what to do with it.  We are either predictable or go nowhere and give up the ball.  There are far too many times when the ball bounces into midfield and we have no-one there or are a distant second to the ball.  Their clearances go to one of them - and so do ours. We really seem to be going backwards in terms of basic stuff and tactics.

Bye the way this isn't all doom and gloom, Woe is us... Simply an observation of a team that looks like it doesn't know what to do with the ball and has been fortunate with having a really good keeper and some good defenders.

To be fair we've been pretty toothless up front for a few seasons now. Only difference is we are a bit more solid at the back this year. Pretty uninspiring stuff

Mate Durrante and Appiah scored against us, in the same game!

😭

Just what we need a shitehouse like Hamill to come on and rub it in.

Beaten by an Appiah and Hamill combo lol

The final insult. Brendan Hamill coming on. Let’s hope he gives us one of his gifts.

Hamill on! Here’s our chance to capitalize on a mistake!

Hmm, this feels similar to recent seasons of GWS Giants

Good squad of players on paper, but constantly hampered by injuries and having to use other players out of position

If it continues we'll get a finals appearance but have to travel to Melbourne (probably) and get pumped as everyone is tired

We started with all 5 of our foreign players - this was the game to really push us onward, especially with WU's Berisha out

Just going to hang it out there, but not actually convinced we are any better than last year tbh. And on the basis of the 5 games so far (reputation and career aside) AMFG isn’t all that much of an upgrade on Riera. Bad times.

If people thought last weeks post game thread was cancer imagine taking a full strength team with all 5 visa players and getting beat by an Appiah goal for a team missing Berisha and Kone.

What’s there to discuss? We’ve been assured we’re going to win the league so I guess that’s that?

Disappointing lose but fair result needed to force babbels hand to rethink things going forward and sort out AM and front formation, clearly evident the difference is having a diamanti running the show and we don't have an answer without raddy. Bye will help figure this out and the bones of a good team is there so no need to panic.
