10 players before the keeper.

If the defense is good, keeper won't have issues.

All 11 must contribute if team is to get good results.

Redder's positioning has been poor at set pieces in recent weeks.

If Pio plays (hope he does) then I hope he grasps the opportunity and sreamrollers onward towards the finals, we all want him to come good. Now is his time..... if Popa gives him the chance.....

Can't see Popa starting him, our front four in the last 2 games has been excellent & would be harsh if one of them was relegated to the bench. Derby I can understand not starting Pio, but not starting him against the 10th place Mariners, perfect opportunity for him to get his confidence back.

Have to disagree with this one.

Last 2 games:

1. Derby - didn't finish any chances and only in the 2nd half when we were down! did Dario step up and finish a good chance

2. CCM - dominated the first half and the only goal they scored was a mistake from the CCM defence. 2nd goal was all the subs combining.

So I wouldn't say the current front 4 have been "excellent" because they haven't put their domination to good use. Struggled to score in the last 2 games. Needs a shake up. Whether that's Pio back in, Golgol in, Dario as no10...whatever.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Popa retain them though. But they need to stop getting in eachother's way and friggen stretch the defence for once instead of going centrally all the time.

........... Redmayne.........

Neville.. Alberto..NTS...Jamo

.......Andreu....Dimas.......

Gol Gol....Nichols.....Bridge

..........Piovaccari.........

Baccus

Vidosic

Santa

Castalen

Reddy

Baccus - to come on if needing a goal and provide the movement and proactive play he does so well.

Castalen - to come on later in the game and run at tiring defenders rather than into fresh ones.

Santa - super sub for Piovaccari

Vidosic - harsh to start him from the bench but I really really want to see Gol Gol start. I'll accept there's some personal bias here.

I agree, if they had put the ball into the back of the net then you could say excellent. I may have over embellished there :P

Unfortunately we haven't seen too much for Gol Gol (that free kick in derby though :good:), Sotirio or Fred to suggest that they'll have any more luck putting it into the back of the net. We all know Castelen bottles it every time he shoots but Dario, Bridge & Nichols have all shown throughout the season that they can put the ball away.

I'm so freaking confused with pio , one moment he's on the bench next moment he's fit but not included then we're told he's on the outer, now he's training with the team and promoted to the starting squad. Wtf is going on, perhaps he can't find another club and is just sticking it out until seasons end.

Let me help you out bro:

- Dropped to the bench for derby

- Listed on the squad travelling to Gosford

- Not listed starting or bench at Gosford but fit

- Lots of rumours during the week but trained & fit

- Listed in the match day squad for home match versus city

- ........

The next step will be very interesting

Start Aspro, Santa, Vidosic @10, Bridge left, Gol Gol right, NTS  & Nichols to the bench, Pio off

NTS and Nichols on the bench? Nichols could work, coming on for a twenty minutes burst but there's no way NTS will start on the bench.

NTS on the bench wont hurt us at all but leaving Nichols on the bench does. Nichols work rate is outstanding and we need his creativity to run the show. Both Aspro and NTS could easily do the job for us, I just prefer Aspro, I think he is a great talent. He is a better ball playing centre back but because he is young player he would be more prone to mistakes, even though he actually doesn't make many.

I would also like to see Piovaccari at least start the game, see how he goes, if he doesn't score at least let him work his ass off so that when our super sub Santa comes on to tear hell on City at the 60 min mark when they start to tire, Other than that it also shouldn't matter if Gol Gol starts as opposed to Vidosic, either or, but I would like to see Gol Gol start against his old side. I am sure he has got something to prove.

Fornaroli has an extremely strong lower centre of gravity. So strong, that he's made Delpierre look silly in the first derby this year. As much as I rate Aspro, NTS and Alberto are more physically able to combat Fornaroli's strength.

Remember that they play 2 up top. So each CB will effectively have to man mark a lot of the time. With their rotation, it's impossible for our CB's to mark the same forward the whole match. If Fornaroli is out strengthening Aspro, he'll just keep targeting him all game

Was it against City last season where we had the mother of all storms pre game which delayed kick off? Let's see if we are going to get a repeat performance. If so: it'll be a 3:2 win for us and a lot of bickering with overenthusiastic riot police.

I think it will be an awesome battle of strength and will between Piovaccari and Kisnorbo. Hope Pio smashes them in tonight.

For Redmayne's fault's (he has had a fair share) some haven't been his complete own doing. I'm not defending him, but he's a **** load better than his time at City and he'll want to prove a point again (no misplaced pass **** ups I hope this time).

City tonight and Victory next week. I'd go for Reddy vs Victory for some reason, but only team management know why he's not starting.

By the by, I missed out on the 3:2 Ruka mishit winner last year, so I'm looking forward to the wet weather tonight.
