This game was a potential banana skin against a poor opposition but Perth have won 2 in row now so confident we will continue the high standards 3-1

The longer we don't score the more Perth will think they can win this match.

Anyone know what conditions they will be playing in? Humidity? Degrees?

I know that MV suffered in the conditions & it seemed PG were better suited. Seemed like they waited till MV ran out of puff before they struck!

If we score in the first half, hopefully we will be able to ride it home...

Perth will run out of puff this time though, 3rd game in a week. Their only advantage is they haven't had to travel.

They have some decent players...Castro, Marinkovic, Covic...that new kid (Reiders?) looked good. But they also have a lot of shite. If we keep the ball like we have been doing, they'll run out of legs in the 2nd half.

Taurus, what's the go with Fred? Am hoping he plays a significant part in this game to prove the haters wrong....

Santa has played off the bench in the last 3-4 games, hopefully he starts & gets 60, meaning Fred can come off the bench to make an impact?

Apart from Bridge I'm glad to see the A team thrown into this one, Perf are not going into it this thinking it's impossible based on last night though...

Can't be to bad marquee wages

For sitting on a bench

Still I think he has found his position, results don't lie.

I'd be giving Golgol a run. He brings good intensity and can be relieved by Castelen in second half. Resting some of our older blokes wouldn't hurt.

If we just play like we have been the last 7 games we will be fine.

I watched PG vs MV on Wednesday night and PG didn't play all that well, they were just lucky MV weren't playing great either and snuck a goal in.

If we get 1 up at half time it should be smooth sailing for the 2nd half.

Andreu needs to just get his 5th card out of the way.

It would be good if he could do it against Newcastle on Christmas eve and sit out the Adelaide game.

Is it 4 or 5 that get you suspended? Or more... can't remember.

BTW, was last week the first time all 3-subs got carded?

Neville needs to get his 5th tomorrow against Perth and Andreu against Newcastle, just to tidy things up for the new year.

Wanderers set to rotate
gettyimages-499112116_0.jpg?itok=Vb_jPcX

Western Sydney Wanderers coach Tony Popovic has conceded it’s unlikely his squad will remain unchanged ahead of their clash with Perth Glory at nib Stadium on Saturday.

Popovic acknowledged that while it was a popular strategy to leave a successful side unchanged, the club would play a side suited to the testing West Australian conditions.

"Each game we judge on its merits, and we go game by game,†Popovic said.

"I don't believe in (if) you win, you change your winning team.

"You put a team out that you believe will win the next game.â€

With the majority of the Wanderers squad approaching full fitness, Popovic has erred caution on rushing back some of his star players.

"Yeah I know some of those boys are training but they're not yet available,†he said.

“So they’re not really in consideration for selection - the boys that have been out for a long time.â€

The Wanderers manager also acknowledged that regardless of the home side’s form, a trip to Perth is always a precarious proposition.

"Winning always breeds confidence and they've had two very good results,†he said.

"Regardless of the result last night we know it's a tough trip to Perth.

"A week is a long time in football, and we're going to Perth fully prepared, expecting a tough game and we have to be at our best."

The Wanderers early season form and style has been praised in recent weeks, with the club on the precipice of recording an eighth straight victory.

This is something Popovic puts down to the lessons learnt after a harsh 2014/15 A-League season.

"As a team, as a club, as a coach, you're constantly evolving and I'm no different,†he said.

"Last year, over a six month period we had an education as club and as a coach that you don't get in four or five years

"We always believed that would make us stronger... and so far we can see we're stronger as a club."

I thought fred returns for this one?

Fred does return for this one but doesn't make much sense to start him after an medium injury layoff. Nothing to do with Popa not rating him or those thinking that he will be on his way out of the club in January, just more of a precaution to ease him back to a starting position either on Christmas Eve or on NYD. Don't forget conditions are never easy in Perth (remember Gallas's first game for Perth?) & that plane trip doesn't help either.

The key over the next few months will be making sure that we manage key players making sure we don't have any preventable long term injuries. It is great that we are in a position to give a player like Bridge a break so he can sort out his groin problems. I'd be more inclined not to risk him if we don't need to on Christmas Eve & give him time for his groin to settle down if our results allow it.
