Sharks don't even have feet - how do they expect to be able to play football??? :unknw::unknw::unknw:

They know how to FINish though.

The 4 for, I can believe, the 2 against, is a figment of your imagination.

This match will be harder than the roar match.

Depends how we play, if we put in a similar performance like we did against the Roar then it will be difficult. Apparently we played well against Canberra Croatia, so hopefully we putting in a similar type performance.

Almost a full squad to choose from & no need to play players out of position on Tuesday.

Time we made a statement of intent.

Will any of the new foreign boys start? I'm guessing Popa would be happy to start Fred and give him 60 minutes and give Santa the other 30. How's Dimas's fitness coming along?

Andreu back already? Thought he was out for a month minimum?

Where did you get that idea from?

What will be an acceptable performance against Palm Beach who struggled to best Roar's U21 NPL squad this season, who Roar beat 9-0 in a trial last year and who the Mariners beat 5-0 in last year's cup?

A win. I'll take a win. A scrappy one, so that the haters blow up!

I thought they were pretty average against South Melbourne too.

25-0 with Redmayne scoring a hat trick.

I wouldn't regard 5-0 as an an acceptable performance, as that score in the Mariners game came about only by Matt Sim scoring 3 or 4 goals in 15 minutes after the game was won. If their match against South Melbourne is anything to go by, they are going to park a double-decker bus in front of goal. I wouldn't be surprised if Popa inverted the central triangle and only has 1 player in the DM role. Purely because Palm Beach are likely to defend so deep

I fully expect us to dominate the ball. However, as it is still off season and we have a lot of new starting players, I think it will be harder to break Palm Beach than many expect. 3 nill with a couple of late goals is my prediction.

I missed that key word on first read through, many of our new foregin players have yet to acclimatise so may not be the right opportunity to blood them for 90 minutes. Use what happened to Andreu as a yard stick or warning in terms of what can happen to our new players if they play too much too early.

I'll take a close win but I'd like to see some better play in terms of our style, build up, possesion & chance creation. Okay we win 1-0, but at least give me some positives to take away from what is happening on the field especially building on the roar & Canberra Croatia game so I can see where we might be come October. Much of what happened at the roar game left me cringing if we kept playing like that in future matches (yes our first 90 minute hit out, lots of players yet to come in & very early in preseason) but was a bit concerning nonetheless.

so what you're saying is if our visa players get too many minutes they'll get hurt in a bad tackle?

If we score early (say within the first 20 mins) then 4/5-0 would be about par for the opposition. However, if Palm Beach can hold until half time then a 1/2-0 win would be acceptable.
