Lookers
I am yet to watch the replay, and possibly blinded by happiness from the win, but I didn't think we played that poorly. We actually played the ball on the ground instead of ridiculous long balls. It wasn't a clinical performance but we did not look hopeless like we have in other games this season. I thought Spira and Poljak were both stand out performers. Also special commendations to Golec. All in all, I'm v happy and can't wait for Saturday ! jocosmic, NickNova, theguyyouwishyouwere and 7 others 10 Link to comment

wswanderersfc
I haven't felt like this since the ACL win. I'm currently at work in the office, my arms are feeling heavy (possible strained arm from celebrating Ruka's goal), voice is 50/50 (I'm sorry if I yelled at you to chant loud, it was the alco and the heat) and my head is thumping. That's the feeling of a good Sunday out. did you hear the importance of la banda yesterday?? as the second half started you boys were just getting the last few drops of h20 in and getting gloves back on etc as the chants started so for the first minute there was all of about 5 people chanting then you kicked in everyone here's the beat and the whole bay started. how special do you feel hahahahaha Prydzopolis, NickNova, OglenLangden and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Horus
Spira was immense in midfield. Hammil is too good to be played out of position on the right, so he should continue to partner Topor in central defence. This was proved in our ACL run, so there is no worry there. But Spira, just had so much time in the middle & that has been missing. It seemed to allow Poljak to have a more mobile role, while Spira just policed the middle of the pitch. In regards to the match in full, i felt we started quite poorly, but from the goal onwards we dominated the half & were probably unlucky not to lead by more than 1-0 at the break. In the second half we were obviously under more pressure, but the way we dug deep & fought for the win was impressive. Onwards & upwards!! Loved to have seen how much impact Yojiro might've had given the space Spira and Golec were creating Flytox and Prydzopolis 2 Link to comment
Redman
Absolutely disgusted in the treatment we have received both times we have visited Penrith. Its a council owned ground but yet Panthers have the rule over it. The club and FFA had the option of showcasing our sport to newcomers but instead made us look like criminals. He had plenty of time for the Wanderers fans - he had a bit of friendly banter with one of the kids, and then when speaking with me and my daughter he assured her that the Wanderers season was about to get a whole lot better now that they had their first win, and to keep on supporting them. He just admitted that our defense was tough to crack, which was true. We pretty much played to our usual style. Score a goal and then defend for your life. It just happened to pay off this time. Still think there is some work to do for us, particularly on the possession side and taking control of the game. But Wellington are a good side, so it was a good win. Arnie would have been taking cheap shots and making snide comments if it was him who copped it. Wait till the derby and you will see if we are able to sneak a win. Zelinsky
Correct me if im wrong but finals are virtually out of reach. Going off last years table we need to win at least 11 of our last 13 or 14 games. With every win we get to hope a little longer, but Top six is highly unlikely at best, and realistically "mission impossible". Every game is a big game, but especially the two home matches gainst City are must win. Heart let Aloisi go after Round 12 with 4 points. They ended up with 26 points and the wooden spoon. We had 4 points after Round 13. Considering our schedule I'd be suprised if we achieve 30 points. Smoggy, Prydzopolis and ManfredSchaefer 3 Link to comment

Nice bloke. And a top coach. Apart from Milicic he is the only other past and current manager with HAL experience I'd welcome at the WSW. He's done a great job in Wellington. Edit: just watched the press conference. Not a sook at all, but very gracious in defeat. He made reference to the Phoenix' lack of depth, and that 18 months ago many of his players were still playing in the youth team. He believes that the Victory has the best squad in the competition, followed by ESFC, if I understood him correctly. http://www.a-league.com.au/video/wellington-phoenix-press-conference/1128758 BoyFromTheWest, lloydy136, ptwsw and 1 other 4 Link to comment

ISSUE ONE: Queues getting into the stadium. SOLUTION: Try getting to the stadium more than half an hour out from kick off. ISSUE TWO: Expensive water. SOLUTION: Going up to the bar, and using the icy cold water they had available for free. Why should I need to get to the ground more than 30 minutes before kick off because the stadium staff CBF'd opening up all the gates? so I should sit there in the sun in the eastern stand and bake just because they don't open all the gates. im sorry but get ****ed on that one. Ah, you've got to love the Gen Y (or whatever generation it is these days). Total ignorant of the history of football. Soon they will be saying to keep the effniks out of football. I remember Parramatta Melita supporters used to use those in the old NSL/state league days. I didn't like it at first, but then got used to it and realised it was a great thing as it revved up the crowd and the team. Has to be used sporadically though. Seems these days it is only popular to listen to a couple of thousand boozed up kids singing out of tune Ah well, I miss all those old instruments that would add something different and unique to the atmosphere back in the day. I am sure we will get to the point where it just bland singing we have to listen to (if we aren't there already). JackDoff, Prydzopolis, ManfredSchaefer and 4 others 7 Link to comment
