beatsurrender Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Looks like ESFC going well in the Membership stakes too. I think it's great for the game and the rivalry anyway. I think it is going to be a struggle financially for the Mariners and the Jets this season (not to mention future seasons) but if Sydney FC struggle too it can't be good for us either. The Derbies are amazing and if ESFC went belly up who would we end up playing? We want to be the best in a strong league surely.Just as long as they are always just that bit behind us! 102megan and Redhead 2

Once I was watching this doco about the Old Firm and when the question of the Rangers going bust came up the Celtic fans were pretty much nonchalant and didn't care if their rivals went belly up, but Rangers fans claimed that the rivalry is what is needed and the Hoops would get bored winning every season if the club went bankrupt, which it did. Anyway, back to the point. I'm so bloody excited for the upcoming season. Ever since my first Wanderers game in season 1 when I wasn't a member, when I walked into Parra Stadium I knew that I had to be part of the RBB. I was impressed. The year after I got my grandstand membership but sitting on the sides killed me when I watched everyone go nuts in the bloc. Now I'm part of it and I can't wait to sing loud and proud! I'm going alone since nobody I knew could get any other membership but supporter or out of towner, so I hope I make some friend so I don't die out of loneliness all season Edited September 8, 2014 by theguest7 beatsurrender, Redhead, DinoPresinger and 4 others 7

theguest7 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I dont know...I'm looking forward to going to Allianz and taunting the Smurfs, the calendar would be pretty empty without that annual trip. Lookers 1
Larfn Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I dont know...I'm looking forward to going to Allianz and taunting the Smurfs, the calendar would be pretty empty without that annual trip. did I miss something. Why would the smurfs go broke. If they play 2 games at Allianz against us that's 80,000 for 2 games? Probably more than what Wellington gets all season

leslie Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 i see that ESFC are second favs to win the comp with centrebet this year with citeh favourites. i think we are 5th in betting. doesn't seem logical to me - i would have thought roar, us and victory in that order. what am i missing?
hawks2767 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 You're missing we have basically a brand new team. It remains to be seen if we just got lucky against Guangzhou Nevergrande or we are a genuine force this early on.

Tony should slap a few sanctions on the Russian owner of ESFC, possibly doesn't deserve that as nothing to do with anything political perhaps, but would just find it amusing.

Neither of them have ACL commitments. I would have Victory favourites, personally. Citeh will struggle to make the 6. Here you go: 1. WSW (of course!) 2. MV 3. BR 4. ESFC 5. AU 6. CCM 7. MC 8. PG 9. BenTrupiano Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Apologies for the delay in response to this thread, but as you can imagine busy times at Wanderers HQ. Just to give you guys a bit of an update on everything Memberships. We are currently completing the change of seating and upgrade request forms at moment. Some of you may have been called regarding this and whilst we have been able to faciliate quite a few moves, not all of them have been possible due to to the renewal rate this season. This is a enormous job so please be patient as we work through it, we hope to be finalised in the coming weeks. A small selection of members will receive their membership packs in the mail in the next few weeks, do not be discouraged if you do not receive your package at the same time as your friend, neighbour, arch enemy or colleague, we have only selected a small number of people who purchased on the first day to be sent out as this is the first time we will be packing them and sending them from overseas. We anticipate that all members will receive there cards and packs in the weeks before our first home game against Central Coast on the 25th of October. Finally, I know you guys have been pushing this but for anyone waiting for any season tickets to become available, I cannot put enough emphasis on purchasing a supporter membership first to get on the waiting list. This cost will be included when you do upgrade, and will also ensure you will be the rush for any tickets that become available. The reality is that we might not go to the general public if we have nothing available. As always if you have any questions concerns, DM or email me at btrupiano@wswanderersfc.com.au. hawks2767 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I have held a supporters membership for 2 seasons, I expect to be offered an upgrade to bay 56 this season. If I don't then I'll have to go buy a mariners membership... Just kidding no one wants to be a mariners member. Neverbloom 1

ESFC have bought well, the Roar have lost Berisha and Franjic. The reality is ESFC only actually finished a game or two behind us in the regular season last year, I'm not surprised they have been elevated ahead of us in the betting. I do agree that City may be overrated, but they have made a couple of good signings, and were strong at the back end of last year. I think it will actaully be quite tight betwen the five sides you have mentioned, plus Adelaide who will be strong. The rest are making up the numbers this season. Prydzopolis 1
Prydzopolis Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Interesting to note that membership number hasn't changed so I assume that they either forgot to update the counter or they have processed last years waiting list and now just got to process the seating requests. With 16,500 being the number of seated available memberships this year it seems like most small seating changes (individuals moving) will be okay (but I assume 6-10 groups of people wouldn't be able to move from South to east/west) leaving a small amount available to the general public i see that ESFC are second favs to win the comp with centrebet this year with citeh favourites. i think we are 5th in betting. doesn't seem logical to me - i would have thought roar, us and victory in that order. what am i missing? Be interesting to see what number of renewing members dropped off? Seems like a few assuming there are lots on the "waiting list" included in the total tally Prydzopolis 1
braad Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I havent got an upgrade from supporter yet so theres obviously nothing available for the general public
Prydzopolis Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I havent got an upgrade from supporter yet so theres obviously nothing available for the general public But if we are going to have 16,500 ticketed members and currently have 15,500 this year, it is pretty clear that they are going through the process of reorganizing and rearranging existing members seating through processing seating changes requests before they move to upgrade the supporters to ticketed members. Be patient Brad!

wsyd12 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 This was posted in an article on the A-League website today - they're updating the clubs' tallies each week which can be viewed on their website. Not many surprises there I reckon. Brisbane and Smurf fans need to pull their fingers out and support their club. And Wellington, CCM and Perth's numbers are appalling - particularly the first two. Not too surprised though. Prydzopolis 1

Obviously we can't improve much. There is still more than a month to go to the season as well. Prydzopolis and MCHammer 2
