Do we have to pay 30 bucks to listen and have a talk about TURNER at our pregame pub on wednesday? :smurfnono:

Quote from the pubs website

We are soon to be hosting a talk about artist Turner on Wednesday the 14th of August at 5pm, accompanied by a tasting of canapés and ales in the company of National Gallery of Australia curators Lucina Ward and Simeran Maxwell. Tickets are $30 per person, so make sure you get on the phone, 0262570111, and book your tickets as soon as possible as seating will be limited.

Update: PREGAME MEET UP IN CANBERRA

2pm on Wednesday 14 August

Castle Room at

King O'Malley's Irish Pub
131 City Walk Canberra City (Civic) opposite McDonalds and next to main bus stops
www.kingomalleys.com.au

The general manager is right on side, and we'll have a dedicated area (Castle Room) nor far from main bar
where singing and chanting is fine.

(of course, anyone who wants to get to pub earlier then fine too on informal basis from 12 noon)

Plan is to leave pub by 4-45pm for Rapid 300+ bus trip to cnr Haydon Drive and Purdie St in Bruce, and then 12-15 minute
walk to stadium which is adjacent to AIS.

Buses around this time go every 5 minutes and takes only 15 mins.

With game to kick off at 6-15pm and finish around 8pm, we then catch 300+ bus (departs every 15 mins) back to Civic and re-group at King O'Malleys - food is available there until 10pm, and then pub stays open til after midnight.

Updated BOM forecast for match day is:

Sunny day. The chance of showers in the evening. Winds northwesterly 20 to 25 km/h turning westerly 25 to 40 km/h during the day.

Max temp 15 minimum 3
Kick off time should be about 8-9 degrees

See you on Wednesday.

CROSS POSTED
(this is confusing with two threads on game - web admin/moderators, can we sort out by locking one?)

Just a casual reminder:

Meet up at King O'Malleys pub tomorrow (Wed) will be from 2pm in the Castle Room set aside by management for our use inc singing!

Those who arrive earlier, it just informal gathering through any part of pub

We leave pub by 4-45pm for Route 300+ buses from Platform 3 in Civic, only 50 metres across from pub

15 mins trip and then get off at stop nearest to corner of Haydon Drive and Purdie Street in Bruce and then 15 min walk via Canberra Institute for Technology to AIS Athletic Field

see you in the Capital

( p.s. updated BOM forecast: Sunny morning. Isolated showers developing during the late afternoon and evening. Winds northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h increasing to 25 to 35 km/h in the late morning then tending westerly 20 to 25 km/h in the evening. Temps max 16 min 4 degrees )
