Note 2: The Sydney United supporters group was ejected from their bay after a firecracker was let off early in the first half. Police charged the group with batons, pepper spray and police dogs.
Note 3: United's second goal was a referee blunder, giving a penalty where none was deserved. He then ordered a re-take after the first penalty was saved by Tyson.
Note 4: Not all substitutions are listed. Bridge and Haliti were also subbed off in the second half.

Any entry fee? Just so I can make sure I have cash with me, not that I mind paying, before anyone has a go!!!! 😜

Strange that they haven't mentioned an entry fee yet. If there is one (one would assume), what are they waiting for?

Also, I couldn't find any mention of the game or advertisement in the latest Fairfield Advance, which is very disappointing.

I'm looking forward to this game. I would like our team to go through all pre-season games winning to nil each time. I particularly want this now that SFC let one in against the Rams. It would be good to start the season with a clean slate, with a better record than our main rivals.

ill make a few phone calls and try to find out ASAP.

SU's wage bill is a lot higher than most over NSWPL sides, so I suspect an entry fee of some sort.

Yeah, im disappointed in the local pages as well, havent seen anything. I know from our end, the game has been pumped around our clubs, and social media.

Take note everyone that effectively this is our last pre-season game in Sydney and that means also for the RBB. Unless that Bankstown City game is confirmed?

Nothing in either the Leader or Champion this week.

Both papers come out on a Wednesday, which is game day, so they'll probably mention it in next weeks edition.

Sydney United 58 to take on Western Sydney Wanderers in friendly encounter

NSW Premier League side Sydney United 58 will lock horns with the Hyundai A-League’s newest franchise Western Sydney Wanderers on Wednesday 22nd August at Sydney United Sports Centre.

Wanderers coach Tony Popovic, an ex-Sydney United 58 great, will take his new look side to his old hunting ground underneath the BOKA Stand as they square off against the former NSL giants who will have a point to prove.

It has been an indifferent season for the Reds with a number of mixed results but they’ve managed to stick tight to the top five standings with a finals series position an objective for Sydney United 58.

Gates will open at 6:30pm with the main game commencing at 7:30pm as the Wanderers will be using this match as preparation for the 2012-2013 Hyundai A-League season.

Following Popovic back to his former ground will also be assistant coach Ante Milicic as well as attacking ace Labinot Haliti.

Heart on the 31st of August in Lismore.

Jets in Newcastle on the 15th of Sept.

Then Wellington on the 23rd on Sep.

Then 2 weeks later the season starts.

So there's enough space for 2 more trial matches if they only do 1 a week. One on the week 3rd-8th, then one in the last week before the season 24th-30th.

In Wellington somewhere.

Lyall did say at the supporters meeting that he didn't want us to face A-league opposition at home until Round 1.

My guess is that they'll play against the NSWPL Minor Premiers as they have a week off in the finals series, which would mean it would be against most likely BWE or very small chance against Olympic. But that's just speculation

Agree, that we surely have to play BWE. Come on make it happen.

Of course. It's all down to Parra today, who are in last spot..... If they can pull off a draw or a win, we are still in with a chance. BWE win today, and they've won the Minor Premiership.

Really looking forward to this game, as its the first one being played in my 'hood', although I've really only lived in the 217* for the last few years. Technically a game at Jensen Oval would be my local, or at least my old local.

there is parking at the gorund, but that would be kaos after, on the streets, and there is a shopping plaza just down the road where you can park

Yea, park closer to the exits than the field if you use the clubs car park. or park out on the street or one of the side streets. or the edensor park plaza.

obviously, parking is not an issue.

Its Western Sydney suburbia. There is plenty of free street parking. How FAR from the stadium it is, is another matter ;)

Acctually parking will be abit of an ssue i think.esspecialy if we get our big crowds as we have so far. I live around the corner.

Its effectively going to be similar to game against Nepean parking wise, except without the wide street with parking. Its on a relatively busy road with not much parking amd windy suburb streets with not enough parking.

If ur not early you will jus have to parl further back in back street with a 10 min walk or so.

Massive match, should be a bumper crowd. Biggest test for us thus far. It's fantastic to play one of the all time great NSWPL clubs. The fact that our manager, staff and some players have strong links to Sydney United further adds to the occasion. I know people from my work are calling in sick just for this game so it's got status and traction for sure.

could be $5-$10-$15, does it really matter? would anyone not go because of an entry fee?
